The purchase of raw tobacco of the 2011 yield was performed by 8 registered purchasers -processors of raw tobacco. These purchasers - processors are registered in the Registry for purchasers of tobacco. For the harvest 2011, purchasers have signed contracts for production and purchase of tobacco with 33.234 producers for a total area of about 15,677 ha.

By registered purchasers, the purchase was accomplished of raw tobacco in leaves of the 2011 yield, which was 21,024 tons with an average purchase price of 164,76 den/kg. The structure of the purchase of tobacco “by types” is as follows: from the type “Prilep”, were purchased a total of 14.212 tons raw tobacco, with an average purchase price of 167,10 den/kg; from “Jaka”, were purchased a total of 5.327 tons raw tobacco, with an average purchase price of 158,28 den/kg; from “Basmak”, were purchased a total of 730 tons raw tobacco, with an average purchase price of 186,07 den/kg; from “Dzebel”, were purchased a total of 44 tons raw tobacco, with average purchase price of 173,04 den/kg and from “Otlja”, were purchased a total of 85 tons raw tobacco, with an average purchase price of 91,32 den/kg.

The structure of the purchase of raw tobacco by class, of a total purchased quantity of tobacco, 21% were estimated in I class, 58% were estimated in class II, 20% were estimated in class III and 1% in class IV.

Three tobacco enterprises, purchasers-processors, were involved in the pilot-project for early purchase of tobacco, whereby from the type “Prilep” are purchased 625.70 tons of raw tobacco, with an average purchase price of 148,61 den/kg.
