When Christmas holidays are coming the demand for nuts increases. Most demanded are chestnuts, where the price of retail markets ranges from 110 to 150 denars. The most present average chestnuts price this week in the markets in Macedonia is 128 denars per kilogram, which is 15% higher than the same period last year, when they were sold for 109 denars per kilogram.

Demand for in shell walnuts is also increased. The wholesale market price is 80 denars per kilogram, while at the retail markets, most common price is 130 denars per kilogram. Selling price of shelled walnuts is 450 denars per kilogram, while the price of shelled hazelnuts is 510 denars per kilogram.

In the region, the cost of shelled walnuts ranges from 440 denars per kilogram in Serbia and 560 denars in Montenegro, while in Kosovo their selling price is 540 denars per kilogram.
